DY TOILE

The sea off of Shetland is a defining aspect to the islands.  From fishing, to wildlife, to history; I wanted to create a cohesive pattern to represent all of these elements and also create a sense of nostalgia with recognisable places for Shetland natives.

This pattern was created by hand drawing each scene separately with graphite pencils.  Also hand drawing waves to fill the gaps between scenes.  These were then scanned to allow for digital editing such as clean up, pattern assembly and background application.
